Shadow Crown

Charcoal and chalk pastel on paper
Dimensions (110 × 80 cm)

"Shadow Crown" is a charcoal and chalk pastel work inspired by a cautionary tale about misjudging the distance to the horizon. The piece explores the tension of standing on the brink of a decision, drawing on themes originally presented in a performance recorded on VHS. That performance chronicled a woman’s journey from Cairo to Lebanon in 1965. This new work on paper reimagines a pivotal moment when she is caught between possibilities and the weight of the past.
